Teen Paayancha Ghoda is a 2025 Marathi coming-of-age drama directed by Noopur Bora. Produced by Darshan Productions and Medium Strong Productions, the film is set in Pune in 2003 and explores friendship, teenage mistakes, and the struggles of growing up.

The story follows three teenagers, Adnan, Chandrika, and Rathore whose simple plan involving a fake marksheet turns into a bigger problem over one unforgettable summer. As their life grows, the friends are forced to face difficult choices, family pressure, and the realities of adulthood.

Teen Paayancha Ghoda was years in the making—a debut director, a story written about a Pune that no longer exists, and a producing team (the same one behind Amaltash) willing to give an unfamiliar voice room to grow. Here is the journey behind the film.

Three Real Pune Incidents, One Fictional Trio

Director Noopur Bora and co-writer Yogesh Vinayak Joshi built the screenplay around three real-life incidents that disrupted Pune in the early 2000s. Rather than dramatise them directly, the writers folded them into the lives of three fictional teenagers letting the city's anxieties become the unspoken backdrop to a friendship.

Noopur Bora's Feature Debut

Bora's only credit before this was theatre and short-form work. Producers Darshan Productions and Medium Strong Productions alongside presenters Rahul Deshpande and Mugdha Shrikant Desai backed her vision through the unusually long road from MAMI 2022 to theatrical release in November 2025.

The Premiere MAMI 2022

Teen Paayancha Ghoda world-premiered at the 22nd Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI) in 2022 as Three Legged Horse, where it played the Spotlight Section and drew early festival press. Critics at MAMI 2022 described it as "a promising portrait of in-betweeners."

Casting Faces You Haven't Seen Yet

Bora deliberately cast actors who were not yet recognisable to Marathi audiences. Kunal Shukla, Ria Nalavade and Avinash Londhe each carry the film without the gravitational pull of a star image and that is what lets the friendship feel real.

Two Cinematographers, One Pune

The film is shot by Suhas Desale and Rushi Tambe both Darshan Productions regulars (their work on Amaltash defined that film's quiet visual register). Together they treat Pune-2003 as a character rather than a backdrop, in colour palettes drawn from old photo albums.

Music as Memory

Composer Bhushan Mate who also scored Amaltash works here in a younger, lighter, more restless idiom. With Mayoor Darda and Yogesh Vinayak Joshi, the team built a soundtrack that feels like the playlist three Pune teenagers would actually have made.

The Festival Run

After MAMI 2022, Teen Paayancha Ghoda travelled to the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF), earning Best Director and Best Debut Film nominations and to the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), where it was an official selection in the Marathi Feature Showcase.

Theatrical Release

The film opened theatrically in India on 7 November 2025, distributed by August Entertainment and marketed alongside the BhaDiPa community as "from the makers of Amaltash".
